Carissa is responsible for the governance, security, privacy, and analysis of all customer data shared with Brightfield. Carissa also chairs the Brightfield Analyst Program, an internal skill-building and engagement program.
Prior to joining Brightfield, Carissa spent 15 years doing social science and statistical work in education and healthcare. Previously, she was the Director of Institutional Effectiveness at Galen College of Nursing, where she built a new team and created new systems for sharing data across the college and within each campus, with the goal of improving outcomes for nursing students and supporting accreditation efforts. Carissa feels strongly about using data science to create opportunities for others, with a focus on promoting diversity and inclusion in technology.
Having visited 23 countries on 5 continents (so far), Carissa has a passion for travel. She is also is a first-generation college graduate of Northeastern University and has her Phd from University of Louisville. Carissa lives in Newark, NJ, with her spouse, three cats, and two young children.
